Q. how much salt should I be putting into the tanks, some say cover the water, other say I can leave it almost go empty and then a couple of bags
A. To avoid a 'salt bridge' or hardening of the salt on the bottom of the salt tank, we would suggest adding 2-3 bags at a time and then let the system use up that amount, then re-add more salt and so on and so on...Too much salt in the salt bin will crush the salt that is submerged in the water causing the brine system to eventually fail. Once a pattern is developed on salt useage, any deviations may indicate a system failure....which may mean calling your preferred treatment company to get things back in working order.

Q. pressure switch kicks on then kicks off because there is air in water line have to hold it on to get water back in pressure tank ,why?
A. conventional pressure switches operater properly when fullyuy pressurised with water. Air in the system will disrupt the normal switch cycle. Either turn up your switch to operate at a higher cut in/out sequence or eliminate the air source. make sure you add air into the pressure tank bladder if you turn up your switch.
